The 2005 Subaru Outback is a solid all-terrain vehicle that makes an excellent all weather family vehicle.
Standard with all wheel drive, the Outback comes with a generous standard equipment list. It has been redesigned for 2005 and is sharper and less boxy. The new model is larger outside and roomer inside. The interior design is more contemporary.
The frame is lighter and the vehicle handles well on winding roads. A sedan model is available. The full complement of safety equipment includes curtain side air backs and all wheel drive.
New to the 2005 Subaru Outback lineup is the XT which has a 250 hp turbo charged engine. The top model is still powered by a 3.0 flat 6 for plenty of power on the mountain without all of the work.
The base 2.5L flat 4 cylinder engine has 168 hp. The frame allows the Outback slightly more ground clearance than the Legacy, making it better suited to gravel and snow.
The wagons are the most popular choice for venturing into the outback with all of your outdoor gear.
